How it goes
I’m sure I packed it this morning, so I must have lost that sports bra on Third Avenue when I was digging in my bag for my keys today. If this were a romantic comedy, the bra would be picked up by some exotic endangered bird for its nest, my comic efforts to reclaim it (I hate heights! And being shat on!) foiled by an environmental activist (Mark Scruffalo, please) with whom I would banter...

A Mile or More in My [Running] Shoes: Charity... →
amileormoreinmyshoes: Tonight I went to JackRabbit Sports on the Upper West Side to check out the info session they were holding on their NYC Marathon training program. It gave me a lot to think about and I will have a few weeks to decide how I’m going to tackle my training for 26.2. (Ultimately, it comes down to whether or not I think I can do it solo or if doing it with a group will keep me...

NYC Runs Firecracker 10K →
Since I will very likely be in New York for the Fourth instead of running my hometown’s 5K (sniffle), I signed up for this race on Roosevelt Island. Anyone want to come with? Afterward we can explore all the creepy crevices of R. Island and then fight some folks for the last available brunch table! As long as we’re talking NYC running, I’m volunteering at the NY Giants 5K in...

"The Secret to an Aging Olympian's Endurance:... →
tridad: I read this WSJ article this morning and thought it might be of some interest, especially to those of you (us) suffering from a bit of over-training, lack of motivation, injuries. The story is about Abdi Abdirahman and his brand of training.  “He eats what he wants, likes to party and runs fewer training miles than other marathoners, occasionally skipping workouts altogether.”   If...

Even if this study isn’t that sound, this sounds like something I should implement. (Note: this doesn’t apply to you emailing me. I love emails! Just not my obsession with them.)
