1. This week I’m trying out Myfitnesspal even though it has been at least a year since I did any thorough calorie tracking. (For a long time I just wrote down what I ate on paper. Can you believe?) Mostly, I’m looking to find where I can get more nutritional value in my foods and whether (as I suspect) I’m not getting enough protein.
So far, so good, although the calories earned through exercise seem suspiciously high. (I mean, I’m awesome, but am I really that awesome?)
You can tell how super-seriously I’m taking this project by the user picture I chose. Still, cakes consumed so far: 0.

    1. runningwithguts said: I use myfitnesspal more for tracking protein than anything else. I don’t let it shame me into starving myself (yeah, 1450 cal isn’t gonna cut it), nor do I put much stake in the amount of cals burned. Can be useful, though!
    2. runningbeautiful said: surprisingly, the calories I burn through running on MFP are significantly LOWER than on my garmin. sooooo…..yeah. there’s that. and I’ve lost weight over the past three weeks utilizing a combination of the two. just sayin.

    5. smaller-n-smaller said: I found MFP suspiciously high on calories burned too until I compared it to my heart rate monitor. It was pretty close, sometimes even though. It was crazy.
