1. A half or less?

I’m registered for a half-marathon this weekend and I’m not sure if I should run it or drop down to a 10K. My knee and calf have been bothering me since Saturday’s 20-miler — though I don’t know if it was the 20-miler or the fact that I have been sitting (and working) too much since then.

Pros of half-marathon:It’s on the training plan; will allow me to practice pacing and my mental game 1 more time; still have 2 weeks to rest if anything goes haywire.

Pros of 10K:Less wear and tear on the ol’ system; same swag at the end; not sure if I NEED need one more half or am just being stubborn.

    What would you do?

    3. livemylove answered: Don’t run the 1/2 - it’s not worth it. If your body is telling you something’s off, just rest. You’ve put in the LRs, you don’t need the 1/ 2

    5. robownslife answered: I’d probably do the half only because I’m psychotic. You know yourself more. What’s best for you?

    7. runningwithguts answered: I was supposed to do a half during taper for NOLA, but I had a wonky foot so I just rowed 20k instead. You don’t NEED to run.
    8. runningbeautiful answered: run the half, but do it slow and easy. and then spend all afternoon making love to your foam roller.
