Guess what we’ll be doing TWO MONTHS from today, fellas!!!!

Between this, the year of workouts so far and a really fun Tumblr meetup last night, I am feeling super positive about 2012 right now. Don’t you bring me down today! etc.

Guess what we’ll be doing TWO MONTHS from today, fellas!!!!

Between this, the year of workouts so far and a really fun Tumblr meetup last night, I am feeling super positive about 2012 right now. Don’t you bring me down today! etc.

  2. NYRR/AHA Wall Street Start! Run

When I started doing races, I did all of them alone. It was all right, because I knew I was doing what was best for me… but sometimes I would see groups of runners chatting it up in the corrals and I’d wish to be among them.

And last night, I was! The Wall Street Run was probably the most purely social race I’ve done since the Midnight Run. Knowing Kimijoy was visiting was the perfect reason to organize a Tumblr meetup, and at the last minute, the rain tapered off and we were standing in the humid canyons of downtown Manhattan.

I wanted to take it easy and had a weird fear of getting injured since I knew the race was going to be crowded, so I tried to just cruise. I had my iPod but I never even turned it on. Another fun thing about lower Manhattan: I have a terrible sense of direction, and if I had been forced to find my own way off the race course I’d probably still be down there. The grid! Bring me the grid!

In the end I ran a respectable 34:40 and notched up qualifier #5 of 9. And I didn’t get hurt (although, I have this weird ache in my inner thighs… running is so glamorous!!!!!)

After the race we all moseyed over for dinner at Brick NYC, a restaurant with terrible service if good food. I don’t know if they were overwhelmed or having a bad night or what, but our water was late, our orders were taken late, a pizza came out WITH A SLICE MISSING (I will never stop telling that story, because please)… well, good thing the company was so great.

Official Tumblr roll call: Kimijoy, Runningbeautiful, Amileormoreinmyshoes, Veggielife, Aneclairtoremember, Tribander, Fasterstronger (and her Tumblrless friend) and Regainingmymoxy (who couldn’t run the race but swung by after personal training). <3 to all.

  3. steelmangoes asked: Okay, you may be getting some unexpected attention... because I accidentally added your name to a list of Male Fitblrs on a question I got.

I do think of you as a "bro." But still, will you EVER forgive me??

This is so funny! Of course you are forgiven. (And before we go any further, please to check out mangosteel’s full list of male fitblrs — some awesome reads in there. I stand with you, gentlemen!)

As an anonymous I’m not surprised or hurt — I think the last time it happened I wrote something like “well, gotta write about my rack more now!” Clearly I didn’t take my own advice. I guess I forget that the aspects of myself which make me the most gender-normatively-according-to-21st-century-American-society female don’t necessarily come out in what I write about or how, but in other ways you can’t see (my love of dresses, for instance).

At the end of the day we’re all here to get healthier, and we share more than we differ. Now let me get back to planning my trip to the brohouse. Uh, I can come right??

  4. Rumor

I hear the real reason one-twenty-five is so happy is because her full name is E. Kate Middleton and she’s about to become a princess.

I mean, she already said she lived in a castle, she didn’t show us her face for a long time (because she’s FAMOUS), she just moved (TO GET AWAY FROM THE PAPARAZZI??)… Plus, exhibit A, exhibit B. IS IT THE SAME COAT?

Clearly they were just postponing the royal wedding so she could finish her financial exams and run her marathon.
